Butch Pratt, the Jeweller

The reason Butch is so uptight
is not a problem to explain:
His castings didn’t come out right.
The temperature was wrong (again.)

The creditors will have to wait
until he gets the orders down.
He’ll be here on Friday night
(even if they burn the town)

trying to get the castings right
to give the men the work they need—
(right through until the first daylight)
eight families they have to feed.
